Happy Almost July 4th Weekend!
I decided to celebrate early to give you a last minute chance to overnight a cute outfit for the loooooong weekend.
(reversecommuter’s red Rosie Assoulin pants are from the Spring 2015 Collection)

His white cutout oxford dress is the perfect piece to take you from picnic to pier to fireworks!
Blue is all about ALC’s Santo Sleeveless Dress. Can’t you just see yourself zipping around the corners in your antique convertible, scarf tied hair, racing to get to the party?! Classic elegance and ease wrapped up in a sale price!
Raise the champs flute to the Red White and Blue, and while you are at it, celebrate you!!!!!!!
Running across the pool deck to stop the five year old from jumping in fully clothed for the 8th time today – no problem, no slipping, and still styling. RHEA’s fancy flip flops. Booting it across the gravel driveway before your daughter wipes out on her skateboard ramp? Fear not superhero mama, RHEA has your back with their patented micro channel treads. Cool to look at and even more cool knowing you won’t wipeout wearing these. RHEA was founded by Cornell students who were slipping and sliding all over Ithaca New York – have you been there? It is really cold, wet and slippery up there! Microtread Griptech soles are what make RHEA flip flops so unbelievably fantastic – you cannot slip on these. RHEA is named after the Greek Goddess of Comfort, and they are cute too! The scientific technology that is built into the soles and treads are what make them fancy, not to mention the rainbow assortment of sole colors options. Brilliant yellow, gorgeous black and gold, spumoni green, patent white, single or double strap – whatever outfit you are trying to compliment RHEA flip flops have it. The really great thing about buying a pair of RHEA flip flops right now is that you are supporting this start-up AND saving some money! The shoes are available exclusively on Kickstarter.com. Go shop and stop wiping out! **full disclosure – please note that reversecommuter received a sample pair of RHEA flip flops but was not paid for this review, nor for the numerous times worn since!**
Animal prints, a basic addition to any wardrobe. Why not bring out the animal instinct with the Sunshine?
Snake print in a blue hue from Equipment.
Now go cheer on that baseball / soccer / lacrosse game Super Mom…but don’t forget the SPF – only the clothes are snake like, not your skin!
Springtime Weekends – potential patio openings, tulips a plenty & gorgeous outfits come out from beneath big winter coats!
Coachella isn’t just about music, fashion is coming to the dessert in a BIG way! CFDA will be present for the first time, and reverse commuter favorite designer Jonathan Simkhai (also a member of the CFDA) will be playing int he dessert too. H&M, PopSugar and Trina Turk will also be at the festival.
Coachella, which started in 1999, has evolved into a fashion statement as much as a music festival, so it really does make perfect sense for the fashion world to start paying attention! Click here to see what a Coachella Mama wears!
Today is the first day to pre-order your Apple Watch. But it is backordered 4-6 weeks.
Good news is that the prices range from $349 to $10000, thus fitting every budget and with the backorder you have enough time to properly deliberate which style is right for you!
Net-a-porter and Chanel have teamed up for the very first time to launch Coco Crush, a collection of fine jewelry that will be available online at net-a-porter.com for a three week period. Click here to sign up for shopping, and mark your calendars for April 15th.
Speaking of Chanel – and what prettier, quiltier, chain-strapped topic is there? Chanel shoppers in China are very pleased with the price adjustments Chanel made on April 8th. Click here to read more about this from an earlier post.
A 20% price drop is WAY significant and it might just seem like Chanel is having a sale in Shanghai today!
Enjoy the weekend – go get a pedicure and wear those fabulous strappy shoes (that have been buried in the back of the closet all winter), while sipping champs on a patio!
Spring has Sprung, and so has the weekend!
reversecommuter’s jaw has hit the floor! Jeff Bezos’ Amazon has set it’s fashion goal WAY high with news this week that Amazon might be trying to buy net-a-porter. THAT IS RIGHT, amazon is trying to BUY net-a-porter.com!
The deal has Natalie Massenet’s website of fashion deliciousness valued at 2 BILLION euros.
Massenet chased her dream to be the ultimate online luxury fashion site starting in her apartment (the luscious net-a-porter packaging was stored in her London flat’s bathtub!), and twelve years later sold the company to luxury goods group Richemont for 390 MILLION euros in 2010.
If this deal goes through, Jeff Bezos will truly earn his title as visionary within the business world. First books, now luxury fashion, online all the time. Mr. Bezos, reversecommuter is a little bit in awe.
Planning on a little cooking this weekend? Why not take a recipe from the brand spanking new Bergdorf Goodman cookbook?
Berdorf’s released the cookbook this week and the food ideas are nearly as scrumptious as a visit to the second floor shoe boutique – trust me, it is THE closest thing to heaven!
The recipes include a ton of yummy cocktail ideas (WHOOP WHOOP!),
loads of salads – ladies who lunch on the 7th floor of Bergdorf’s LIVE for salads, salivate-worthy fish and meat entrees and desserts that include butterscotch brownies – I mean COME ON!!!!!!!!!
Needless to say, you can buy it on Amazon for a mere $25.
Put the boots in the back of the closet, slip into the strappy sandals and pop the champs – it’s Friday!!!!!!
