Bohemian 2 Go!

Boho is everywhere in fashion – it is like a VW beetle that just won’t rust quietly away at the junkyard.

Tassles, suede, embroidery, add a little bit of frayed denim and a groovy easy vibe.  Pick the designer and one spectacularly deceiving WOW piece to update your wardrobe.  Boots, Tunic, Suede jacket, distressed denim and a trippy scarf to wrap around your head – the list goes on and on, just like the beat!

The budget can be yours to set.  Invest and update now and enjoy it into Fall 2015.  NYFW is delivering a Bevy of Boho across the runways as we speak (or blog, or read the blog, etc…).

Gucci’s brilliantly colored fringe collection is drool worthy in any shade!

Just this morning Ralph Lauren offered fringe on the bottom of skirts, boots, fur scarves, purses…

Calypso St. Barth’s tunic is an easy starting piece.  Great over skinny jeans, add a scarf and date night is redefined.

Etro owns the hippy dippy kaleidoscope of fashion happiness and if you click here you could too!

Now the only question remaining is how do I transport that amazingly brilliant azul, partially convertible bug back to the ‘burbs?!?

Fashion & Finance Friday!

The loveliest part of a long weekend might just be the super short week that follows.  Happy Friday!

Gucci announced that Frida Giannini’s replacement as Creative Director is

….her former assistant, Alessandro Michele.

uhm…that is not how you spell Tom Ford.    I even checked the Italian/English dictionary.

Converse sued 32 companies in the fall of 2014 for trademark infringement on their ICONIC Chuck Taylors.

Some of the companies include Ralph Lauren, Skechers, Walmart, Ed Hardy etc.  Ralph Lauren has agreed to a settlement agreement and will destroy 35 different styles of shoes that smack of Chuckies.

Chuck Taylor’s were born in 1917, so perhaps this imitation is just forgery not flattery.

Suddenly excited to put on my new Wildfox & follow directions!

Enjoy the weekend!

Fashion & Finance Friday!

Exactly what I needed – FRIDAY of a loooooong weekend.  While sipping the champs this weekend (as we do) let’s recall and respect Dr. King’s speech and vision.

Levi’s is about to preach and teach!  net-a-porter will launch a limited collection, Levi’s 501 CT, and across the land skinny jeans will weep. The CT in 501 CT stands for Customized and Tapered, which is what most anyone with any sense of style does to their 501s now.

Yup, higher waist, looser fit, and let’s be real people, no other jeans make the a*s look better than a beat up pair of 501s.  Set the reminder on the smart phone and get online to buy early March 2nd.

Tommy Tommy Tommy.  You all know how I feel about the man, the myth the fashion legend Tom Ford.  Click here for a refresher!

Rumor on the cobblestone streets of Firenze is that Gucci might be bringing Tom back to run the fashion house of all things sexy.  #fingerscrossedfingerscrossedfingerscrossed!

Frida Giannini left early this week, despite a previously announced exit after the Fall 2015 show in February.  reversecommuter thinks that the Fall 2014 Gucci collection was her best but too little too late apparently.

The python, the bit boots, the shearling pink jacket – pity she released-the-beast right at the end.

Enjoy the loooooong weekend – dress up, wow your audience, and yourself!

Scarves & Car Singing

The little things in life really do make me ridiculously happy.

Case in point, my scarf that throws in some much needed sunshine at a time when the weather is dipping into scary-frostbite-freezing-zone (and yes, that is an actual made-up meteorological term!).

Don’t let the cold win. Grab a bright accessory that makes you sing in the car with wild abandon.  Click the pictures to get a bright scarf worth singing about!

Etro Scarf

Click here to visit the hermes scarf store – cannot post their pictures but trust me it is SO worth a visit!
It’s totally okay, the windows are up – it’s freezing out!

Fashion & Finance Friday

6 more sleeps till Santa comes / 3rd night of Hannukah and it is Friday – can you say Holiday Party?!?!?!

Just in case you are stumped in the “whatshouldIweartothatparty?” feel free to peruse the first 7 days of reversecommuter’s 12 Days of Christmas Party Outfits (or Holiday Party Outfits depending on what side of the menorah you are sitting on).

The shakeup that shook up horse bits around the world occurred again this week.  In case you were still sobbing loudly into to your velvet Tom Ford for Gucci tuxedo jacket, Gucci once again released their lead designer, Frida Gianini and the CEO, Patrizio di Marco, who interestingly are a real life couple and parents to a 2 year old.

Giannini will depart after her final collection is shown at the Milano fashion week ending February 25, and Patrizio will have become the world’s best dressed stay-at-home daddy beginning January 1, 2015.

Gucci’s holding company, Kering, shakes the world of interlocking G’s every now and then – Tom Ford anyone?!?!?! – and the reason behind this double dipped sword is based on sagging sales figures.  Mamma Mia that is one big lump of designer coal.

Speaking of Gucci Gucci Goo, the SEC has charged AVON for ding-donging some Chinese officials with goodies that included Gucci bags and trinkets from Tiffany’s.

The Avon bribes back in 2006 helped the door-to-door makeup company secure some of the early direct business selling licenses issued by the Chinese government to foreign companies.

$135 Million is the fine – that is a lot of Skin So Soft, just saying…

Whip yourself into a fancy dress frenzy, calm the nerves with a  perfectly chilled flute of champs and ignore the sore feet while you dance the night away on the very last weekend of Holiday Parties 2014!

O.W.O. Knit Wit

One Weekend Outfit, grey sky and chilly.

Knit pants are everywhere, think Fall 2014 Marc Jacobs, Chanel, and more!

Now think Joe Fresh at 49.00, suddenly everything seems a little sunnier!

O.W.O. DenimSquared

O.W.O. (one weekend outfit) is all about denim.

reversecommuter used to steer away from denim on denim for fear of being one acid wash accident away from tragic.  Picture it.  Shudder.

photo 3

Designer’s have upped the denim game, the cuts, the colors, the styles, the textures, the rips and whiskers, all have cured me and now the possibilities are endless.

photo 2

Think about it – overalls, denim jackets, jean shirts, layered, interspersed with accessories to play up the look and deepen the blues’ hues.
