It’s a Wrap!

reversecommuter has a new gig….DSC_0111

yup, now the host of South Shore Style TV.  WOAH!

First episode was filmed yesterday – it was a really really looooooooong FUN day!

Started with hair and make up.   Really now,  what is better than a trim and blow out?

Filming until May, airing June thru August.  Kinda cool & I am very grateful for the opportunity!

DVF top, MOTHER jeans, Balenciaga booties.

Need Want

Kind of obsessed with these pants from Acne.  Click here to buy.

As you know, reversecommuter is loving the stripes for Spring 2013 in a BIG way, (click to see posting) and with the ankles slit open these are just a little different and super cute!  Could be fab dressed up with strappy heels or just with flats.

Cover Up!

Tulum, Mexico is the ultimate in a bohemian boutiquey beach town.

There are a handful of boutique hotels (10 oceanfront beach huts), amazing restaurants (with no roof on any of them, just lit by a zillion stars), no electricity (seriously), and one über cool shop, just one.

Meet Josa.  Click here and go bananas!!!

reversecommuter fell in immediate love with the orange low back.

Josa is my new fave – not just for coverups but for gorgeous dresses too!

Beachy Keen

Tulum, Mexico = new fave spot!

What’s better than palm trees, hammocks, beach time with the family & margaritas?

Clearly not too excited about coming back to more winter but bright fuschia hues make it the transition a little easier…

DVF top from the Spring 2013 Collection (came in a bunch of great colors) – this top is going to be a staple for spring!  Click here to buy the DVF Regan Top.

Fashion & Finance Friday!

Apologies on the late posting – my palapa hut has spotty internet service!

Fall RTW 2013 Collections were happening this week in New York, once the snow drifts were trucked out.  Highlights include gorgeous coats, leather, and color – Yes, COLOR in Fall Collections – COOL!!!!!   Catch phrases included glamor, sophisticated, cool, luxurious.  reversecommuter is looking forward to working those elements into a fall wardrobe – such as this leather gorgeousness from Marc Jacobs!

Oscar de la Renta sent out a robin’s egg blue coat that was beyond drool worthiness.  Of course it was designed by John Galliano, formerly of Dior, hopefully fully cured of his anti-Semetic slurs.  Ideally he can offer up sensational designs and keep his bigotry to himself.

The much anticipated return of Galliano’s clothes to the runway brought an impressive who’s who including Mario Testino, Barry Diller & wife Diane von Furstenberg and Valentino – WOAH!

Lot’s and Lot’s and Lot’s of orange boxes must have been dolled out over the holidays – Hermes announced their quarterly numbers were up 22.5%!  Viva the orange!

Have a wondrous weekend filled with atleast one delirious outfit and a glass of champs!

Show Some Skin!

Or atleast wear some.

Leather & suede are a perfect option, especially at this time of year…and honestly, aren’t you just a teensy weensy bit tired of sweaters & layers?

A biker jacket isn’t just black anymore. Think pink (YAY!), print, metallics, bright colors, and yes, still some black leather. Click here to check out a virtual rainbow of biker jackets on

Natural skins keep you nice and warm…and stylish too!

Now if only I could find my keys!

Chloe boots, MOTHER jeans, Barbara Bui jacket, Alexander McQueen scarf, Hermes belt, Celine bag.

No Edit!

reversecommuter was born without an edit button….

at least when it comes to packing (among other times…)

Heading off to a sunny beachy place with my yummy family for a vacation….but apparently packing for a month or two!   10 bikinis, 8 pairs of shorts, 14 dresses etc etc etc.  Oh well, a girl’s gotta have options!

What I am really craving is a new frilly girly sun dress but alas have not found exactly what I have in mind (don’t you hate that?!).  This is the closest to what I envision but isn’t quite it… (click here to go to net-a-porter to check it out)

Brighten Up!

Oh the snow…..

Boston schools are still closed, snow drifts are crazy high, lots and lots of snow all over the place.  Sounds like the perfect excuse for a wintery Monday GNO!

Always dressed in black & blue like a bruise?  Pop a little color into your outfit – it will brighten up your mood faster than downing 4000 IU Vitamin D drops!

Click here to view the Keisha skirt in gardenia by DVF.

Did you know that the Pre-Fall DVF Collection will mark the return of DIANE von FURSTENBERG as the solo designer of her label?!?!?!?!?  MUCH MORE on that in a later post!

Sweater Burberry, Boots Fiorintini + Baker, Skirt DVF.

All this snow (30 inches worth!!) had me thinking…

reversecommuter needs some new snow duds…and you know how happy a little retail therapy makes me!

THE best catalogue and website for designer ski wear is Gorsuch (click here to be wowed!).  Gorsuch is a family business, celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary this year, and has a heart string pulling kind of story – 2 Olympians meet, fall in love, move to Vail, have children, build fab designer ski wear retail business…SIGH!

Another fave line is Montbell (click for the dreamiest down around).  Founded in 1975 by Isamu Tatsuno, a Japanese mountain climber, Montbell is stylish, uber warm and brilliant in design.

So sit back, click, browse, shop, squeal with delight, repeat!

Montbell jacket, Bogner pants, Sorel boots.
