Matthaeus Schwarz loved his clothes, and may have been the first fashion blogger, despite his living in the 16th Century, and being an accountant!
Beginning at the age of 23 through to 63, spanning a lifetime of events that included marriage, a stroke and a multitude of career events, Matthaeus commissioned paintings of himself in some PHENOMENAL outfits. I found this article fascinating (click here to read it in its entirety) and it reaffirmed my love of all things reversecommuter.
The flare of his choices is spell binding – the colors, patterns and poses all deliver a strong message that he clearly choreographed to tell a story.
Fashion is a passion, and an interest and a huge industry and an art form. I am SO happy to be a small cog in such an uber fabulous machine!
Love this post on one of the “first” fashion bloggers! Very interesting!
Thanks!
I love that fab 16th Century accountant and his outfits too!
This is fascinating! Love!
