NYFW a la ‘burbs

There was a pity party happening in the suburbs.
Fashion blogger and style editor couldn’t go to NYFW. Too many commitments in my other role as a mom.
Luckily Vogue.com, instagram and the grooviest online fashion feeds allow me the super human combination of being super mama and fashion obsessed blogger all in a day’s work!

Truly all my technological fashion feeds are in direct thanks to Christopher Bailey, the CEO and design director of Burberry.

Christopher changed fashion forever when he permitted a live feed of his fashion show in February 2010.  Before this landmark event fashion shows were strictly for buyers and editors and certainly NOT for suburban moms!

The greatest luxury is being able to watch live video feeds of the shows (hello phenomenal new playlists!!!), translate the fashions into suburban mom-speak and write posts for the blog, news sites and magazine, all while running the corporation of home, husband and children!

This was Alexander Wang’s gift to his New York audience, along with his return to street wear FIERCE collection, British rapper Lady Leshurr.

Seriously add it to your workout playlist NOW!

Other designers tapped it back in the form of nineties artists, Willie Nelson and of course using the appropriately titled “begging for threads” tee hee!

Tune in tomorrow for a posting dedicated to the simplicity of Spring 2016 Fashion.  Imagine that!

Color Me Happy!

Panetone (the paint company) develops a biblical proportion tool that is widely adhered to in the fashion world.  The Panetone Fashion Color Report Collection is created for every fashion season, and designers, buyers and consumers alike get V V excited about it’s arrival.

Such a fab tool to have in your back pocket when strategizing the wardrobe.   You can even simplify your participation down to t-shirts, influenced by Panetone!

Designers don’t always adhere to the exact tones but their collections are rarely too far off the Panetone color spectrum.  Here are a couple of examples from Fall 2012:

Philip Lim Olympian Blue and Honey Gold were on clear exhibit with his Fall 2012 runway show.
