Have Boots, Will Pick

Apples, will pick apples.

Once again proving that when trapped in the burbs, one must acclimatize…reversecommuter went apple picking, for the VERY FIRST TIME EVER!

Wore Fiorintini & Baker boots.  Fiorintini & Baker makes incredible, delicious, stylish boots made out of ridiculously luxurious Italian leather.  They just opened their one and only store in the US in SOHO, otherwise you can pop into their shop in Milano, or shop online.

Click the  picture and go to a REALLY COOL BOOT SITE!

Accompanying the Fiorintini & Baker boots was a little Alexander McQueen (scarf), and The Row (long sleeved t-shirt).

suburbanly challenged yes, but still fashionable.

oh, and scattered amongst the apple orchard there were pumpkins too.

Tickled Hot Pink!

Hot Pink is the new black!

Literally, it is THE color of Fall 2013.

Stella knows it  (click here for Stella McCartney’s website)

Brian Atwood knows it (click here to be taken to Brian Atwood’s website aka Shoe Heaven!)

Acne knows it (click here to be taken to ACNE, mild obsession for reversecommuter!!!!)

Alexander (all hail!!!) McQueen has it locked in with a bootie that will make you NUTSO!!!!!!!! (click the blue to be taken to Alexander McQueen)

More importantly, Michael Kors (and reversecommuter) knew it in Spring 2012…..

(that is my dress) and now all I have to do is find the perfect black patent platform pumps to update it for Fall!

Which Way is Up?

Sometimes real life and the fashion world can seem a little confusing.

Retail stores are clearing out all things Summer 2012.  Or it is already all gone.

Pre-fall items are already trickling in, and full force Fall 2012 is en route and I am BEYOND giddy about that!  (see picture below – me, giddy)

However…there is a big ol’ heat wave pummeling the East Coast right now so once again I am going to pay homage to my absolute FAVE bikini designer, SHAN.

Click here  to ooooooh and ahhhhhhhh, then call one of the Shan boutiques and get yourself a little something to wear in the 100 degree heat!

Or, just drool on this gorgeous Fall 2012-2013 wish list.

Leather Trumps All

Leather is a trend that is happily not going anywhere. Fall 2012 shows had leather everything, shirts, skirts, jackets, scarves…oh yes, scarves, phenom scarves by Celine – NEED, WANT, NEED!!!!

The great thing about leather is that it is a year round material. Granted, during a heat wave you may not want to have leather anything sticking to you, but otherwise it can work for any season.

Pinks and Oranges for Spring and Summer:

So I guess that is what inspired me this morning to bring out my Armani perforated leather skirt.

I paired the skirt with a T by Alexander Wang black tank (LOVE his tees & tanks!!!), Gap cardigan, Mui Mui belt and my Old Gringos…it’s rainy here today but I am not in a Hunter boot mood!

Color Me Happy!

Panetone (the paint company) develops a biblical proportion tool that is widely adhered to in the fashion world.  The Panetone Fashion Color Report Collection is created for every fashion season, and designers, buyers and consumers alike get V V excited about it’s arrival.

Such a fab tool to have in your back pocket when strategizing the wardrobe.   You can even simplify your participation down to t-shirts, influenced by Panetone!

Designers don’t always adhere to the exact tones but their collections are rarely too far off the Panetone color spectrum.  Here are a couple of examples from Fall 2012:

Philip Lim Olympian Blue and Honey Gold were on clear exhibit with his Fall 2012 runway show.

Alexander McQueen and the Rose Smoke and Tangerine Tango purrrrrrrrrr!

Alexander Wang loved the plums and rhapsody color line
