O.W.O. City/Beach Style

Ever been to a busy bustling city that has a sandy beach one block away from your hotel?

reversecommuter is experiencing this strange phenomenon right now in Chicago…and liking it!

Perfect outfit to take you from surf & sand straight to shopping at THE coolest shop in Chitown?  Shan bikini, 100% Capri linen oversized shirt, Rag & Bone cut offs, Havaiana flip flops and a Panama hat to cover up the post-swim hair!

IKRAM is a women’s boutique, art gallery and restaurant all tied into one tidy luxe red ribbon of fantastic!

Click here to peruse the boutique, and all the phenomenal designers that live there.

P.S. Completely addicted to the contents of this bottle.  Harmless Harvest’s Pink, raw, delicious coconut water (did you know it is better than sports drinks to replenish and rehydrate?).  Can you think of a better way to recover from the beach and strengthen up for shopping?!?!?

Monochromatic Navy

My favorite color has always been Navy Blue.

1Slap on a hat to add a fresh feature.

Walked around a zoo in the scorching heat with the bambinos – hat turned out to be a really great choice – although I could have used a conductor’s hat!

Prada skirt, ScoopNYC tank, Havaianas flip flops, Joe Fresh hat.

MooMoo Basic

Black Maxi Dress.

Absolute basic, absolute necessity.

Perfect piece for a family night out – provides satisfactory cute factor and spill proof!

T-Bags dress, Havaiana flip flops and Bottega Venetta bag.

Cloudy Comfies

Even cloudy days are relaxing on vacation.

Alexander Wang is a t-shirt genius. Mixing in a little linen makes a regular tee special.

And if La Perla makes the drawstring pants you know you are in the comfy zone all day long. Time to curl up with a fab book and watch the waves!

Cool White Shirt

Amazing how a white shirt – even with long sleeves – can be so cool in the heat.

Add a pair of cut offs and havaianas and it’s all good.

If only it was this easy in the winter…

What the heck…

is reversecommuter going to wear in the colder months?!  I shudder to think about a life more complex.  Layers, boots, wool, leather, shearlings….okay, it won’t be so bad!  🙂

Once the temperature drops below 60 fahrenheit, there is CLEARLY going to be a MAJOR shopping need!

But this summer it’s all about cute little sun dresses, bikinis, sun hats, flip flops and maxi dresses. Easy peasy.

Summer Simplicity

Summer allows for no-brainers in the morning.  Take my outfit for example.  Dress on, hair back, flops & done!

Dress by Scout (I bought it last year and cannot find any current shops that carry the line, here is the only one I found at Yoox.com), FlipFlops by Havianas, Headband by Missoni.

Speaking of Havianas and Missoni…did you know that the two fashion houses teamed up this year for a special limited edition collection of Missoni flops?  COOL.COOL. COOL!

But the price tag of $70 for a pair of flip flops…luke warm at best.

But for now I am happy with my $20.00 flops – that way there are no tears when the inevitable blowout happens.
