Donating to charities is always a great idea for unwanted clothing.  But what about the big ticket items that are unloved by you, but could totally rock someone else’s world?

realzC

Allow me to introduce you to Julie Wainwright and TheRealReal.

realzB

reversecommuter arranged for therealreal.com‘s “white glove service” – have atleast 10 pieces that meet the criteria of the realreal.com’s designer list, and a phenomenal fashion force comes right to your home to take your goodies, tag & review them, and then put them up on the website for sale.  reversecommuter’s pile included shoes from Gucci & Jimmy Choo, clothing from DVF, Balenciaga, Fendi, Marni, Burberry and a few others too.  Guess what – you can earn up to 70% of the selling price!

Clear out the clutter, be environmentally friendly, receive $.  It’s just like the shampoo bottle instructions…rinse & repeat!

Worth Every Penny

reversecommuter has a new man in her life…the cobbler.

cobbler

Perhaps one too many struts across the cobblestone streets of Boston is to blame, but some of my heels need some love!

shoes

Ironically the cobbler visit made me realize that investing in great quality, designer pieces really is a wise choice.  Proper care (ie new lifts on the heels) only extends the life and encourages the same type of investments.

Good Shoe Rules:

1. NEVER be the girl who goes “TICKTICKTICK” across the floor (it means the nail head is exposed & you need new lifts)

2. When the red wears off the soles, it’s time to replace the Loubies!

Click here to visit Louboutin and increase the value of your shoe portfolio!

Slingers

Slingbacks, the eternal shoe.

shoes3

Instant classic shoe with a side of sexy.

shoes1

The trickiest part is finding a good slingback, so it doesn’t slip down (enough to drive a sane gal banoookies!).

FYI carry this style into fall just please don’t add stockings!

shoes2

These are Manolo Blahnik’s, but Jimmy Choo is an equally perfect choice!  Click the blue to visit either.

Sun, Sorels & Sleds

My family.  Yummmy!

And they let me dress them, because they know I love all things fashion.

fam

I am SO a fan of Canada Goose outdoor clothing. Jackets, hats, puffer jackets, vests. Bright pink, yellow, black, blue, turquoise, white. With fur, without. Anyway you choose, deliciousness!  This hat is uber cute and warm too – nothing better than that combo in January in Boston!
I have it on good authority Canada Goose is a family owned company, third generation running it now. Reinvented itself by sending out complimentary jackets to the crews of movies filming up in Toronto. Smart!  (don’tcha love a little scoop?)  Click the blue to visit Canada Goose.

hat

This is in my backyard.  Great park for snowshoeing, tobogganing, running and hiking, and renting the fantastic party space too!house

reversecommuter is always waxing on about investing in good pieces.  My jacket is a perfect example, and I am a total wimp in the winter, so it was a smart investment too.  Moncler.  Click the blue to visit and drool!
sillysnowA fabulous fashion friend of mine exclaimed that it is easier to drive in 6 inch Jimmy Choos than it is in these Sorels.  TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!

snowsuit But if it is cold and wet outside, save the Choos and keep the feet warm.  Click the blue to check out Sorel website.sorels

Fashion & Finance Friday!

Happy First Friday of 2013!

The Gap has purchased Intermix for $130 MILLION!  Yes, The Gap. Yes, Intermix.  Seriously.

gap-logo

Intermix bagan in 1996 in Manhattan, and now has stores in 11 states, and one in Toronto, Canada.  Intermix carries fabulous gorgeous lines such as DVF, Chloe, Yigal Azrouël, Mulberry, Jimmy Choo, Stella McCartney, and Rag & Bone.  The Gap is worth $15 BILLION and looking to redefine itself.  reversecommuter says “BRILLIANT MOVE!”

tiffany3

Tiffany & Co. and Elsa Peretti are still in love, $47.3 MILLION kinda love.  The Italian designer and the blue box jeweler have extended their relationship with an extended deal. Elsa’s designs are responsible for 10% of Tiff’s annual sales.

Brown Santa!

Brown Santa!

Yesterday was a BIG day for Brown Santa (click here to read about my adoration of Brown Santa).  January 3rd is now known as “National Returns Day”.  UPS was expecting more than 500,000 returns to be picked up and processed yesterday, with an impressive 2 MILLION returns this week.  So much for regifting!

Have  a fashionable & fun weekend!

Smoking Bunnies

Smoking Slippers.  Who knew?  Comfort and style – LOVE!!!!!!!!!!

Buh-Bye Tory Burch flats.  The BIG DOGS are taking this over and doing it OH SO RIGHT!

Alexander McQueen – does it get any better than this?!

Jimmy Choo

Ralph Lauren

Stubbs & Wotton – the classic from Palm Beach (need I say more?)

Slip on the smoking slippers when running to catch the school bus…

not that the bunny face slippers aren’t cute in their own way.

No need to “Wotton” anymore, just click the pictures, be taken to the website and buy! (excluding the bunny slippers – reversecommuter cannot encourage that kind of behavior).

P.S. reversecommuter grabbed her smoking slippers at Zara for a whopping $49.00
