Cold as a Witches What?!

Winter has officially arrived.  Coldest week of the year here in Boston right now.

Seriously, this blogger needs a palm tree.

There is a silver lining to this cold bleak grey week.  I blame German dockhands for my happy warmth.

Wellenstyn jackets were originally made out of sail cloth, a material strong enough to withstand wind, cold and damp.  It’s like the shipyards of Hamburg are sister ports with Boston.  Brrrrrrrrrrr Frauline!

Glencheck, navy blue, camel, black, royal blue, metallic, grey, red, lime green, what’s your pleasure?  Any choice will deliver delirious warmth, perfect for building snow forts or surviving snowball attacks!

Waist length, car coat or bomber?

Down, faux fur, three in one shell with a vest to wear once it all thaws out?

Done, done and done.  There is even room to dabble in the mens section if you want a different cut.  Or surprise your man with a crazy warm winter coat!

There are now four Wellenstyn stores in the US, one in California, one in New York City, and two outlets, one in Chicago and one in Wrentham, MA.  Jackets at the outlet run around $400-600, and worth every single penny when the temperature is zero – not including wind chill.  #hatewindchillmorethanbangs

All Wellenstyn jackets are either waterproof or water resistant – this is very good news for anyone who lives where “Nor’Easter” is part of the forecast!  Plus each jacket style has its own adorable name.  Obviously “darling” called to me.

“Schneeauber” means snow magic in German.  reversecommuter thinks Wellenstyn may be a perfect synonym.

GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAWN!!!!!!!!   I am from Toronto, living in Boston – translation, I was up quite late watching playoff hockey (the only type of hockey I watch, truth be told!)

Not sure if the cool morning is a result of my sleepiness or the chilly May weather.

reversecommuter refuses to wait for the warm weather – shorts and sweaters solve the immediate problem.  Bring on summer!

Layers are truly the only route to happiness so sneak a cute tee under the sweater just in case it warms up!

Trench coats allow a small mercy…

get a great coat and you look FAB!  Even when racing for the school bus, running behind schedule and wrapped up with a dog’s leash.

Jeans, t-shirt, ballet flats or heels and an amazing trench…

Ba-Da-Bing!   But only until the warm weather arrives, then the outfit needs to count just a little more.
