No Shorts in January

But absolutely okay to keep wearing them through the fall.  The mornings are brrrrr cold but the day heats up so just add a layer or two…

(it is SO cold in comparison to the heatwave I was enjoying in Europe – but happy to be back blogging!)

The Short and Long of It

I want to jump into the long sleeves, the leather, the wine colored everything, the knits…20120828-085432.jpg

But it is still very hot here (not that that is a bad thing!).

Shorts are a big focus for early fall, paired with blazers, long sleeve blouses, sleeveless sweaters, boots and even tights taking the look further into the cold weather.

Clearly the only thing reverse commuter is pairing shorts with right now is a tank top & flops. But it is strangely comforting to know that they are sticking around for awhile!

Shorts by Chaiken, tank from ScoopNYC and wedges from Prada Sport.

Notso Bad Burbs

It is no secret that reversecommuter moved to the burbs, well, a little under duress.
As my husband says (a little too often), I moved here kicking and screaming, and five years later I’m now just screaming (isn’t he funny?).

Unstructured, sunny summer days that define themselves make the move make sense.

Now if only I could walk to a Starbucks…

or get my daughter to stop playing paparazzi!

Never Underestimate the Power of Shoes!

Victoria Beckham (LOVE!!!!!) knows the power of a good heel:

“Absolutely [heels make my feet] hurt. Absolutely! I’m not going to lie. But no pain, no gain, as they say. I don’t mind. I will suffer. I don’t wear heels every day, but when I’m out, that’s how I feel confident.”  – Glamour Magazine

… and I have to agree with her, heels give me an added boost too (please excuse the double entendre!).
A shoe choice can affect the entire vibe of an outfit, not to mention the mood of the wearer!  I was reminded of that while choosing what to wear today….basic white button down, Dolce and Gabbana, striped cotton capris, D&G, and a variety of shoes……
1. Prada Sport Wedges
2.  Roger Vivier Flats
 3.  Gucci Navy Patent Pumps
4. Manolo Blahnik Purple Suede Fringed Booties
5.  Balenciaga Yellow Patent Pumps
6.  Gucci black loafers
And here is my favorite choice, all sliced up!  🙂
