Scarves & Car Singing

The little things in life really do make me ridiculously happy.

Case in point, my scarf that throws in some much needed sunshine at a time when the weather is dipping into scary-frostbite-freezing-zone (and yes, that is an actual made-up meteorological term!).

Don’t let the cold win. Grab a bright accessory that makes you sing in the car with wild abandon.  Click the pictures to get a bright scarf worth singing about!

Etro Scarf

Click here to visit the hermes scarf store – cannot post their pictures but trust me it is SO worth a visit!
It’s totally okay, the windows are up – it’s freezing out!

O.W.O. (One Weekend Outfit) “Scarfing It!”

Best creative addition to the wardrobe in early fall?  Un cravat. ( translation: a little neck scarf).

Adds a fun pop of color and fun flair to even the most basic of outfits – hello white t-shirt and ripped jeans, meet fancy scarf!

A little chill in the air but the sun is still blazing – so of course reversecommuter is going to squeeze a little more time out of the shorts season.  Top a pair of shorts and a t-shirt with a blazer and a scarf et voila!  Zippier than a Vespa!

Alexander Wang’s paisly ascot is a current fashion have, but Hermes is still the house of classic silk prints.

Cute Accoutrement!

Accoutrement – French for “additional items for dress”…like a fur scarf!

Or a fab faux like this Rachel Zoe, on sale right now so click the blue!

Michael Kors brought it as one of his key looks for Pre-Fall 2014.  reversecommuter could / should / would absolutely live in this all day long!!

BCBG Max Azria scattered a couple of pelts around the neck too for Pre-Fall 2014.

reversecommuter is mildly obsessed with fur scarves.  Purple fox?  Check.

Mink?  Yup.  Sable?  Working on it….Valentine of mine, are you reading this?

KirnaZabete was rocking it last week when they were hanging with Prabal Gurung, pre-NYFW, pre-streaker (ugh).  Click here for more of that Fashion Week debacle (why is it always the peeps who shouldn’t overshare that do?!)

Pause here for an Uber-cool reversecommuter moment – when I met KirnaZabete (Beth Puccini and Sarah Easely), I told them the goal of the blog was to get one woman in the ‘burbs out of yoga pants every single day – they LOVED it, and told me it was the same reason behind what they did.   Um….shivers!!!!!!!!

Cherry Blossoms

Spring colors are exploding in nature and in fashion…

Put that black long sleeve sweater away and pull out a splash of color…

Or at the very least tie a bright & happy scarf on your bag to celebrate the big thaw!

DVF skirt, Fendi blouse, Gucci slingbacks.

Tie Me Up

American Thanksgiving is in two days!

Most women are lucky to have five minutes to put themselves together during the frenzied preparation for this holiday.

Slap on a scarf, add a burst of color and feel fancy while you stuff that bird!

My current faves include any of the Louis Vuitton Yayoi Kusama polka dot scarves (reversecommuter hearts the red one in a BIG WAY!).  Click the blue phrase or the pic to go to Louis Vuitton to buy.

The Snood is a fab option too (not to mention the name sounds like something a la Dr Seuss).  Click on the blue phrase (or the picture) to go to Net-a-Porter to purchase this gorgeous Missoni Snood.

Crop To It!

Cooler weather = Shorter Pants.  Kooky Fall Fashion!

Cropped pants are definitely a great fall option.

Think of it as extending shoe wearing days before the mandatory boot uniform of winter begins.   You know it’s coming…

Although boots & cropped pants would definitely work!

Chaiken cropped pants, Levi’s jean shirt, Gucci loafers, scarf Henri Bendel.

Leather Trumps All

Leather is a trend that is happily not going anywhere. Fall 2012 shows had leather everything, shirts, skirts, jackets, scarves…oh yes, scarves, phenom scarves by Celine – NEED, WANT, NEED!!!!

The great thing about leather is that it is a year round material. Granted, during a heat wave you may not want to have leather anything sticking to you, but otherwise it can work for any season.

Pinks and Oranges for Spring and Summer:

So I guess that is what inspired me this morning to bring out my Armani perforated leather skirt.

I paired the skirt with a T by Alexander Wang black tank (LOVE his tees & tanks!!!), Gap cardigan, Mui Mui belt and my Old Gringos…it’s rainy here today but I am not in a Hunter boot mood!
