Hat Hunt

It’s over.  It was challenging and sometimes even exhausting…

reversecommuter did her due diligence, at Scoop NYC (the reindeer number was my running have…), Steven Alan (uber cool shop had quite the impressive selection…)

But I found it.

The perfect slouchy beanie.

The Third Piece (click here for more) had their trunk show last night in Boston at Cafeteria, and perfection was found. The Ope Hat in sapphire, now otherwise known as reversecommuter’s!

Here I am with the founder, Carina (hours before she jetted off to NYC for another trunk show at Henri Bendel – this line is HOT!!!!).

Oh David!

Fashion Week in NYC is phenom.  It is fantasy at it’s best.  And for the fashion obsessed it is the Mecca – truly!

Where else would Michelangelo’s David be found draped in Missoni?

Running around NYC during Fashion Week ensures plenty of entertainment – day and night!  Obviously there is the world famous shopping to keep you busy….

reversecommuter has super human vision when shopping…

Clearly she has set her sights upon her prey….

There is also the most intense form of people watching available – check out these two I bumped into in the Meat Packing district…(can you tell the gentleman on the left shaved his hair in half?)

Strangely (not) reversecommuter found herself at the DVF flagship store, and was mildly intrigued with the two mannequins and their before and after status…

reversecommuter is convinced they were en route to grace a fab runway

It’s All in the Bag

Pre-children and occasionally on date nights I carry a cute, teeny tiny clutch. Most of the time however, I am risking spinal injury with a ridiculously large, heavy bag which holds an even more ridiculous amount of cr*p!
Might as well make it a cute big bag, not that the amount of “stuff” is going to change.

Imagine the level of happiness on the richter scale when I stumbled onto a new handbag designer, who delivers gorgeousness without the price being scary. orYany is the name, delivering scrumpdiliciousness in a handbag is his game!
I bought mine at ScoopNYC but have also seen the collection at Bloomingdales, and of course on the web.

or Yany is quite the genius in design, look at all the pockets on the outside, and compartments, openings and zippers on the inside. This bag is a busy woman’s BFF!

So I’ve loaded up my or Yany bag, am heading out to the gym (another perk of the big bag is it’s multi-purpose capability), rocking my Essie nails and ready to take on the day!

After a few dedicated hours shopping on Saturday, (thanks for coming with me awesome, handsome husband), the cut off shorts dilemma has been solved!  PHEW!

I tried on a bunch of different pairs (Seven for All Mankind, AG, etc…) and the winner was…..

Rag and Bone.  The Mila Short was the one I bought, and it was exactly what I was looking for – washed out denim and a relaxed cut.  Sort of sits on the hip, very comfortable and easy to match with a plain white t-shirt.   Great Summer Uniform!

Cut-offs can be particularly challenging…although Daisy Duke rocked them best, there is  really no need for me to go too short!  A rear-view review was key in the change room!

20120520-212349.jpgWhy the title “GREEDY”  you ask?

Because I also bought a white pair of AGs, because I couldn’t leave Scoop NYC empty handed!

It’s Not that Kind of Party!

Saturday night was a fun one: dinner plans, and then a fund raiser to attend – YAY!

First step in preparations, manicures with my 7 year old daughter – LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blue nails….not so much love.  But, a promise is a promise & she wanted matching manis.

Alexander Wang is a personal fave, and I really love T by Alexander Wang because it is not     reasonable to expect a girl to be able to buy runway fashions every time she goes shopping…although it would be quite lovely!

So I bought this fabulous T by Alexander Wang navy blue dress (to continue the blue theme of the day), at Scoop NYC.

Imagine my surprise at home (2 minutes before I had to leave), when I noticed the sheer panels were MUCH more adventurous that they had appeared in the change room!

Personally, I still love the dress, and anticipate it being a summer fave.  But for the evening’s planned events I sure was happy I had chosen to bring a pinstriped navy blazer with me.

PS Please come follow me on Instagram (reversecommuter) – such a fun, addictive app!!!!

Decadence, Gorgeousness, and Crayons, Oh My!

The fashionista crowd came out en mass to help children in need at Scoop NYC last night.

Shopping always makes me happy but when the profits go to little ones who don’t have as much as most, there are no words!!!!

Kudos to the lovely hostesses!  This is one of them, Laura Baldini, with me.  (It’s all about that dress of her’s right??!?!?!)

Scoop NYC, admirable, charitable, fabulous.  Here is one of my fave people at the boutique!

All in the Name of Charity…

I am going to a charity event tonight at ScoopNYC, and I have a little wish list of items that I want to get, all in the name of helping others (and what better excuse is there than that?!!)
