O.W.O = One Weekend Outfit.

Went into Boston’s South End yesterday for a little promenade, lattes and a red velvet cupcake for the little dude (big siblings out at various play dates).

The THAW has officially begun, which in Boston means the snow begins to melt and the salt is still inches deep on the streets – do not wear the good boots out!

Now that winter is on the way out, reversecommuter is getting all reved up about Spring Collections and a big ol’ dose of retail therapy!!  Jonathan Simkhai’s quilted pony hair bomber from Fall ’13 reminded me of his incredible Spring Collection.  There really is no simple explanation of how reversecommuter’s mind works!  🙂

Bought an awesome new cookbook on my walk – have to share as it is meatless Monday, and this cookbook is vegetarian deliciousness!  Click here to get it!

Speaking of vegetarian…Don’t forget to like reversecommuter’s FaceBook page to be entered into the KALE sweatshirt giveaway – click this blue phrase for all the details  – contest over tomorrow!

SPANX Me Silly!

What’s that you say, it’s too cold to wear a skirt?

Nope.  Go buy a bunch of these in a variety of colors…(click the blue!)

Expand your cold weather wardrobe while making all kinds of things tight & perky!  Make everyone at the school bus stop wonder what you are up to!

Balenciaga skirt, Prada sweater, SPANX tights.

Fashion & Finance Friday!

F-R-I-D-A-Y reversecommuter hearts you!!!!!!!!!!!!

CFDA announced it’s honorees last night and Proenza Schouler (click here to read about reversecommuter’s love affair with Proenza!) came out as a lead contender in two categories.  There was also the UBER cool media award to be presented to Tim Blanks – the KING of fashion reporting and founder of Style.com.  (kind of an idol of reversecommuter!).  Click here to read the full list of nominees.

Go Joe!

Joe Fresh may have to save J.C. Penny – that’s alot of pressure on a little Canadian!

J.C. Penny is opening Joe Fresh pop ups inside 681 of the department store’s locations this morning!  J C Penny has not lived up to investors’ expectations, REALLY horrific Q4 earnings were just released and a board member was selling chunks of shares (bad!!).  No item will be over $69.00 at the Joe Fresh J C Penny pop ups…so GO JOE!  reversecommuter is a BIG Joe Fresh fan, since I discovered the brand and the interesting story behind the founder and his equally amazingly talented Pink Tartan designer wife (click the blue to read more).

Suck it up!

There is a battle brewing between Sara Blakely of SPANX (click here to read all about this AMAZING entrepreneur!) and Yummie Tummie (and RHONY) Heather Thompson over who copied who’s gut sucker upper technology.  reversecommuter doesn’t want to predict the legal outcome, but just wants to express her gratitude to said technology!

Have a fashionably spectacular weekend – complete with a glass of champs and a slinky skirt!

Bad Behavior

Nothing to see here Mr Art Gallery Security Guard…

Took the bambinos to the ICA for a little cultural infusion, (The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston – click the blue to go to the ICA website).

Nice View!

Never miss an opportunity to be the cheese…

This marble bench, an installation at the ICA, says it all.

Miu Miu skirt, Dolce & Gabbana sweater, James Perse long sleeve t-shirt, Spanx tights, Proenza Schouler boots, YSL bag, Roots leather vest.

Fashion & Finance Friday!

This edition of Fashion & Finance Friday has a GIrl Power Theme (must have been the Olympic performance of the Spice Girls’ influencing reversecommuter!)

SPANX (every girl’s bff) is a company started by a fabulously clever gal named Sara Blakely to improve how her butt looked in pants – true story!  LOVE IT!

SPANX has wholesale numbers of approximately $240 MILLION annually – inspirational!!!

The company is planning on opening some SPANX retail stores in the US – GREAT NEWS as the formal season is right around the corner, and evening gowns looked 10X better with a little SPANX love underneath.

Martha Stewart is being fought over by two very powerful men – corporate CEO’s.  Macy’s is suing J C Penney over Martha’s home goods line, basically fighting over the right to sell Martha Stewart dishes, towels, etc.  This could prove to be a very costly fight…and entertaining!

Cosmopolitan’s Editor Helen Gurley Brown passed away this week at 90.  Best selling author, editor extreme and mentor for women and their sex lives around the world.  Celebrate the woman this weekend, have a cosmo and a romp!

Happy Weekend!!!
