Open Back

New trend alert going into Fall 2016.

Open back shirts are so fun to play with, and it is a great way to transition into Fall while the weather is still delightfully hot!

Shirt by Style Mafia, cut-offs Paige jeans, Golden Goose Deluxe Brand shoes.

A statement shirt paired with denim cut-offs or with a more formal cut short is a great way to welcome a new schedule in hot weather.

It’s still summer even though school is officially back in session.  Sad when all the pool toys are stacked.

Details are everything.  Borrow a pair of cufflinks, Colonel Sanders-style a thin tie around the collar, get creative and have fun.

Wynwood Walls

Graffiti is the most primitive expression of art.

All you need is a couple of cans of spray paint, some walls…

and mad crazy good talent!

Anyone else smell something burning?  Vaporize much creepy alien dude?

Wynwood Walls in Miami is an area of the city rich in Spanish, Haitian, and American culture.

The walls are a testament to the passion and creativity of the people.

Seriously inspirational place to be – I had to start writing immediately!

The artists change up the walls all the time, making this area an ongoing interactive art display.

It is also an area of up and coming designers and there are some ridiculously fantabulous boutiques and showrooms littered throughout.
One of my absolute faves is Style Mafia.  Trust me, you just have to go.  NOW!

I was lucky enough to take the founder of Style Mafiaand a fabulous friend of mine (who introduced us) out for THE best cup of coffee after shopping at the showroom.

Even the coffee bar baristas are full blown artists in Wynwood !

So spray on the “Off” to combat the Zika and spend a day cruising through an art gallery located on the walls in the streets of Wynwood.

Style Mafia Bella!

Miami Swim Week.  What part of that statement doesn’t deliver excitement?

A beach lined city of pulsating music, bikini clad models strutting the newest swimwear lines on floating swimming pool runways, Latino energy and fashion, fashion, fashion.

I may never go home.  Seriously.

One event reversecommuter was lucky enough to attend was Coast’s rooftop party presenting a handpicked lot of designers and their incredible lines.  Designers included Acid NYC, Luxchillas, YannaK and Style Mafia.

Style Mafia is a Miami based line of beautifully designed clothing, incredible craftsmanship and seriously ridiculous-in-the-good-way pricing.

Ruffles, pinstripes, off-the-shoulder tops, cropped frayed pants, scalloped tanks and tops, flirty crop tops and nautical striped flowing tops in a clever color assortment.

Valeska and Simmonett Perera are the mother/ daughter masterminds behind Style Mafia.  Creating a line that didn’t break the bank yet still delivered trend on fashion was the absolute goal.

No exaggeration, I saw the Maeve top in yellow and thought it was Fendi.  The price on the Maeve top is $69.

Valeska (on the far left), having just returned from traveling abroad to Lebanon and Columbia, was not exhibiting any jet lag at the party, but rather was warm and friendly towards the crowd of Mafia Style fashionistas!
