Tennis Love

I literally stopped playing in the middle of a tennis clinic because I couldn’t read the logo on a girl’s cute outfit.

Believe me, I am a genius of discretion but I didn’t recognize the logo and I really needed to know what this fabulous outfit was!

Tennis clothing is a fairly tight family.  There are the behemoths Nike, Adidas, my personal obsession adidas by Stella McCartney and some others such as Lucky in Love, Monreal London, Fila and Chrissy by Tail.

Attention please – there is a new kid in town and she is not messing around!  Yaffa Activewear, founded by Laura Preskin, is an entrepreneurial fashion startup that is delivering tennis gorgeousness, courtside and then off the court.
Influenced by ready to wear fashion, designed by a former fashion executive, Yaffa brings clever additions and unexpected details that absolutely set their clothes apart from the competition.  Blues, greys, brilliant whites and even spf treated pieces that reduce skin exposure to the sun.

Ruching is such a flattering addition to design, especially for the tennis set made up predominantly of women who have had children – there is only so much a daily plank can do, am I right?

Yaffa is available online and in various tennis and country clubs across the USA.  It can also be found in my closet…quite a few pieces actually, as I am a big fan!

Keep On Trucking!

Maybe it is because of the serious case of Beach Brain reversecommuter is currently enjoying.

Maybe it’s because of the seriously bad case of Beach Wave Messiness currently located on the top of my head.  YEESH!

hat2

FYI this Quicksilver hat has fringe – I mean REALLY??!?!?  HOW exactly did I live without this?  Truth be told my son bought this in a surf shop…and mama took it over pronto!

Maybe it is just because reversecommuter LOVES a good hat.  Really, reversecommuter loves any fashion item that compliments and makes life easy.  Easy as in throw it on and go!  This ROXY number is super duper cute and has a drop down hot pink mesh visor.

When was the last time you spent $30 or less and scored a happy addition to the wardrobe and protecting your skin from the sun?  Truck On!

Horizontal? Vertical?

What is it about the beach that brings out the stripes?

Is it the obvious nautical association?

Is it the flattering aspect of stripes that designers recognize?

Is it the instant element of fun, while getting a little sun protection?

Is it the glamour?

Whatever the reason, it definitely works!

reversecommuter’s striped coverup is by JOSA Tulum (more on that little beach boutique of awesomeness next week!).

Caps For Sale – Monkeys Not Included!

This posting comes via special request!

Summer is coming, and as intoxicating as a good tan glow is, it is horrible for our skin!  😦

To combat UV rays in a fashionable manner, add a fabulous chapeau!

Here are a few ideas:

J. Crew delivers this dandy at a mere $ 38.00, so when it gets smushed in your beach bag, there are no tears.

Jessica Simpson Collection (for real) offers the uber floppy for a lovely $ 38.00, just in time for the Triple Crown!

Eugenia Kim, oh how I heart your hats Eugenia, offers an awesome fedora for $295.00 at Net-a-Porter.  Better to keep this one out of smushy places!

My personal summer standby, cowboy raffia.  It goes perfectly with sun dresses, cut-offs and bikinis!
